ST-I Wiki
ST-I Wiki purpose and usage ST-I Wiki is a wiki that specializes in Star Trek starships and technology. The ST-I Wiki was created as a companion site to ST-I to allow users to submit corrections to ST-I, additional information, and non-cannon information. Unlike ST-I, this wiki is not limited to basic statistical information and cannon starships. Users are encouraged to add any information they believe would improve both ST-I and ST-I Wiki. As the ST-I companion site the best information from the wiki will be incorporated back into the ST-I.
Editors Note: I've created this wiki for the fun and enjoyment of all. I know that I've been asked may times to do things on ST-I slightly differently such as splitting ship variants or adding non-cannon classes, something I've hesitated to do until now. But now with the wiki if you want to do this, knock yourself out. I've also hadn't had the time to incorporate every single user submitted edited on the main page since I added that functionality to ST-I, I currently have a back log of over 250 e-mail submissions. I hope this page should be much more responsive to everyone's needs.
How-to
Please read the help page first to learn how to edit the wiki.
News
I just added the cite extension on the wiki. To use it you can use the syntax text text text<ref>My source</ref> on pages that have had a reference section added. This will make a citation reference (a super script number) which source will appear at the bottom of the page.
Discussion topics
This page has been created for ST-I Wiki users to discuss the wiki and how to improve it. From time to time new discussion topics will be will posted by the editors to find out user opinions and gather new ideas. Users and also start there own conversation topics as they see fit. To add your comment, edit this page, please sign all your post by typing ~~~~ or using the signature button on the edit tool bar.
Wiki Syntax
I'll be the first to admit, I am not a wiki expert. What you see right now is what I've managed to learn on my own. So I need ideas on how to make this wiki look professional and have the best usability experience. For example, templates. I've managed figure out how to make some basic ones like the ship info box, but I think more are needed. Basically the goal is to make this site the equal of the richest wikis on the internet. If anyone has good ideas of what is needed or knows how to make them please respond. --StoVoKor5506 05:52, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Ship information
To start each page I have imported the content of ST-I. This make the information fall into several sections. These include the general description, notable ships, history, and the ship infobox found on the right side of each page. Additionally I created an image gallery and web links section. So what other sections are wanted? What information about a ship is needed? I'm hoping these questions will work themselves out as people start adding to the ship pages. --StoVoKor5506 05:52, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
