The Peregrine class is a small Federation assault fighter used in the Dominion war. The Peregrine was commonly used in the first assault wave to soften the enemy defenses before the capital ships moved in. The Peregrine fighter shares a common design with the Maquis raider; it is unclear which design was the original.
